Family Time and the trip back (7 hours)

Faking sleep on the long 12 hour drive to Vicki's wedding. Every time I turned to take a picture they pretended to be sleeping.

The later photos are real sleep. The men rose at 4 AM to go fishing then had delays. You can see the the need to fall onto the sofa and go back to sleep instead of waiting awake was powerful!!!!!! Especially since we arrived in town for the wedding at 5 AM and the pictures were at 9 AM before the 11 o'clock wedding! Talk about tired~!
It was wonderful being with Grandma and Grandpa. We are so glad they are back from Florida. I am so happy for Vicki and Larry. It was wonderful seeing all the boys and Sandy and Mike. What a fun weekend.

The LONG 12 hour drive to the wedding & the Fun

This was a wonderful weekend with the children and family. We had tornado warnings, and we prayed and the skies turned a beautiful blue for the remainder of the trip. We stopped hourly to check out various coffee stops and sights. There was flooding everywhere, or further south preparations for flooding being put in place. What a mess it was at home with Waverly, Shell Rock, Waterloo, Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapid, Iowa City etc underwater. Vaughn's business was closed due to flood waters for a week. It was nice having him home. The residents where I work at Western Home were all transfered to a new retirement facility for a week and slept on air mattresses they purchased from Walmart. There were tornado warnings there too. We are learning to pray and watch God work. Two Christian sisters at work and I prayed and the storm immediatly, acording to the weather radar, split and went around us and we had no wind, just heavy rain. God is good.

Fishing was great. Catching wasn't as good. Ha! But the weather and the company was wonderful. We were delighted everyone was able to show up.
