My Love Letter To My Hero, My Dad Sept. 11, 2008

Hi Dad,

Our last days with Mother were a treasure beyond all measure.
They were hard, challenging and diamonds in Dad and My heart's forever, that no one can steal or harm. They were days where neither of us saw more than 3 hours sleep at any given time, for 24/7, for 2 1/2 months of intense care; but together Dad, we got through those long months that went by like a blink in time, as we walked on, no matter what the rest of the world did, day and night, together, holding her up as we spoke joy into her fears and laughter into her tears as we changed the subject and reminded her of all the wonders we had held together over the years. We were able to turn pain into rest and ultimately our faithfully walking quietly along with her, showed Mother that God promises LOVE defeats ALL evil. Isaiah 57:1. "What man does not understand is that I take those early who are righteous before me to spare them from suffering."
She is waiting to spend eternity with us now Dad. She is as beautiful as the day you met her and she is just waiting in wonder and beauty for you join her one day.

Mother was a beautiful angel and every moment was like a glimpse of the mercies of the Lord, as together, we walked her through every trial until she was gently and lovingly taken home.

Thank You Dad and Mom for being my first glimpse of what love looked, felt and tasted like.

Thank you Daddy for showing me how to love, no matter how hard, no matter how painful, no matter how exhausting, or exasperating, to the very end. You did GOOD Dad. We both did good, Dad. I am proud to be your daughter. You are amazing, and so was mother.

I love you forever.
Joyce

Enjoy these precious pictures Dad.

Dearest Joyce,
I was sorry to hear of your loss of your Mom from earth's shores to heaven's. How we rejoice that we will see those loved ones who die in the Lord! What a day of rejoicing THAT will be. You are in my prayers, in my heart. More than that, dear lady, you are carried in the arms of a loving Shepherd.
